RNCZ: the competitiveness of the shipbuilding industry depends on decarbonisation

As part of the Roteiro Naval Carbono Zero (RNCZ) project, representatives from CEVAL – Alto Minho and Fórum Oceano were interviewed by the newspaper Transportes & Negócios, in which they emphasised the strategic importance of decarbonisation for the future of the Portuguese naval industry.

The interview addressed the need to align public policies, financing and technological innovation to ensure an energy transition in the Shipbuilding, Repair and Maintenance sector. According to the project promoters, the competitiveness of shipbuilding companies will, they argue, increasingly be determined by their ability to adapt to environmental and sustainability requirements.
