About the Project

Roteiro Naval Carbono Zero - RNCZ will define a clear decarbonization trajectory and specific targets for the 2025-2050 period, regarding the Naval Construction, Repair and Maintenance sector.

01

The project begins with the diagnosis and benchmark of the sector and ESG trends, complemented by the modelling of emission scenarios, as well as technical, legal and financial studies. The project will work closely with the industry, to allow for the integration of its needs and priorities in the decarbonization roadmap.

02

RNCZ will enable the sector to achieve specific decarbonization objectives, by addressing three vectors: i) reducing emissions in the industry through electrification and replacement of technologies; ii) use of electricity from renewable sources; and iii) reduction of of raw materials consumption, by optimizing naval architecture

03

The publishing of the roadmap will be followed by a series of training and dissemination activities within the sector and relevant stakeholders, to ensure the implementation of the decarbonization measures foreseen.
