On November 25th, the RNCZ took another important step in its journey, with the 2nd Listening Session “Listen to the Industry”. This session took place at Instituto Hidrográfico, in Lisbon and brought together some of the main actors in Naval Construction, Repair and Maintenance (CRMN).
The event was attended by participants from prestigious institutions and companies: Associação de Armadores da Marinha de Comércio (AAMC), Grupo Sousa, Porto de Lisboa, Porto de Setúbal e Sesimbra, Centro de Competência em Economia Azul (C2EA), APORMAR, AI Navais, Universidade do Minho e Estaleiros Navais de Peniche.
This session, preceded by the 1st edition, held in Porto, is included in a cycle of four sessions, and allowed the RNCZ to better understand the challenges of the shipping industry regarding decarbonization, as well as to promote a debate on the next steps to be taken.
In this sense, the workshop reinforced RNCZ’s commitment to creating a collaborative roadmap that responds to the sector’s needs and decarbonization goals. This is another step in building a sustainable and competitive future for the Portuguese shipping industry.

With the conclusion of this second session, the RNCZ continues its mission, preparing new consultation actions in other regions of the country, which will allow it to integrate a cohesive and comprehensive national vision. The Zero Carbon Naval Roadmap thus reaffirms itself as a decisive initiative for the energy transition of the naval sector, uniting industry, academia and other stakeholders in a joint effort for sustainability and environmental regeneration.
